Part four of a series on theĀ three simple rules for a successful website.
Rule #3: visibility.
You’ve heard the age old philosophical question before: if a tree falls in the woods and nobody is there to here it, does it make a sound? Well, on the Internet we have the answer and it is a big fat resounding NO. You can launch a website but, with no visitors, what’s the point? You can send an email blast, but with nobody on your list, who cares? You can create a twitter account and expound sentimentally about Fluffy the cat, but if nobody is following you nobody is listening. If there is nobody listening, believe me, you’re not going to make a sound.
Some people love Star Wars. Some people love Forrest Gump (me included). Some people love Field of Dreams. I’m not one of them. I absolutely love baseball but, after repeated viewings, I just don’t buy into that movie. “Build it and they will come.” Puh-lease. « Read the rest of this entry »
